With Thailand 12 hours ahead of EST, they've already said goodbye to 2012 and have welcomed in the new year.
Unlike many of us here in the U.S. that are bringing in the new year with both snow and the dreaded 'wintery mix', the new season is just getting started in Thailand. Temperatures are pleasant but not yet scorching as they will be around April. Both the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand beckon with beautiful islands.
And while prices will be on the rise in the high season, Thailand is still more accessible than ever.
If you're looking for a dream vacation in 2013, skip the Caribbean and give something different a try! You'll be amazed at just how cheap a visit to Southeast Asia can be.

I enjoyed another beautiful year spent on the world's most fascinating continent and set up shop in Thailand, Malaysia, India, and Sri Lanka. Thank you for your support throughout the year and here's to a great 2013!
