It's that time of year so a lot of people are starting to wonder: When is Chinese New Year in 2013?

The fancy Chinese lunisolar calendar causes the dates for CNY to change each year, so this year Chinese New Year will begin on February 10.

From food and fireworks to performances and cultural events, some form of Chinese New Year takes place in just about every city in the world; this is your chance to experience Chinese culture at its best while close to home.

The new year will be the Year of the Snake, so if you were born during the right months in 1977, 1989, or 2001, this is your auspicious year to make things happen.

See my hub article about Chinese New Year to find out about preparations, traditions, celebrations, and generally everything you need to stay in the know for this year's celebration!

You've got about a month to learn how to say happy new year in Chinese to local friends. Don't worry; it's only four easy words.
