Elisha "Eli" Reimer made history last week by becoming the first person with Down syndrome to reach Everest Base Camp in Nepal.

The 15-year-old teen from Bend, Oregon, completed the 70-mile trek to EBC with his father Justin Reimer and six others.

The team reached Everest Base Camp at 17,598 feet just before World Down Syndrome Day on March 21.

The adventure raised US $85,000 in donations for the Oregon-based Elisha Foundation, an organization that provides support to children with disabilities and their families.

A triumphant Eli and father returned to a hero's welcome in Los Angeles International Airport where supporters turned out to welcome the two back to the US.

Congratulations, guys -- well done!
