Asia Travel BlogFestival of the Week: The PassionIn the village of San Pedro Cutud, in Pampanga Province about 50 miles north of Manila, a reenactment of the Passion of Christ is held on Good Friday every year. The event starts between 9am and 10am and is not for the faith-hearted. The event includes the self-flagellation of many local penitents and the actual crucifixion of of a Filipino "Christ" and two other people playing the role of the Biblical thieves.
