The Agence France Press is reporting that a Canadian prosecutor is laying charges against a Canadian citizen for sexual assault and making child pornography. That information, in itself, would not be big news except that the activities being prosecuted actually took place in Asia. "This case is somewhat unique because the alleged sexual offences against children were committed outside of Canada," said prosecution spokesman Geoff Gaul. "It is the first time this section (of the Criminal Code) has been used, so there may not be any precedent when we make our arguments."
