The
Agence France Press is reporting that a Canadian prosecutor is laying charges against a Canadian citizen for sexual assault and making child pornography. That information, in itself, would not be big news
except that the activities being prosecuted actually took place in Asia. "
This case is somewhat unique because the alleged sexual offences against children were committed outside of Canada," said prosecution spokesman Geoff Gaul. "
It is the first time this section (of the Criminal Code)
has been used, so there may not be any precedent when we make our arguments."
