Asia. The images are exotic. They draw people who consider the possibilities: a sunny day on the white sands of Boracay or Cebu; the night markets of Bangkok or Saigon; the ancient tiles of a mosque in Samarkand or the carved panels of Angkor Wat and Borobudur; the throbbing discos of Hong Kong or the bronze gamelan drums of Indonesia; fresh seafood in Penang, or Goa.

The images are warm, and fuzzy. Perhaps too fuzzy. Many people don't know much about Asia. This course is designed to change that, to give you a way to think about Asia and to introduce you to at least some of what it has to offer visitors...
