New comers to Singapore often make the mistake of thinking that the city's culinary treasures are confined to the downtown area. The short drive out East Parkway to The Mango Tree proves them wrong. The restaurant's Goan flavors just add to the hodge podge of variety available for the taste buds of tourists in the city.
If you can afford $55(S) for the Malabar Seafood Platter, the dish is worth it. If your purse strings are a little tighter, try the Kerela Fish Curry or the Tandoor Chilli Prawns (both for under $20(S). But the aromas and flavors of staple items like their lemon basmati rice or garlic naan are almost as satisfying as the seafood itself...
