Education and Experience
Amberly Young graduated with a BA in Creative Writing from the University of California at Santa Cruz. At university, her writing experience spanned from working for the school newspaper to a three-month political journalism internship in Washington DC.
Amberly also worked as art director of the Leviathan, the Jewish Journal, and composed an autobiographical graphic novel for her senior project.
Travel
Just one month after graduating, Amberly embarked on an around-the-world trip that she is still immersed in. She started in New Zealand for 10 months, working on farms, hitchhiking, and trekking around the country, and then headed to Southeast Asia. She toured through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Bali before landing in Australia for a working-holiday visa.
