The Bottom Line

Al Muntaha Restaurant in the Burj Al Arab Hotel is the best view of Dubai available. And that is largely the reason people go there. The food itself, while not horrible, is generally not worth the price. It is not difficult to blow a couple of hundred dollars before you even think about what wine you want. My advice: drop in for an appetizer or cocktails, enjoy the view and take some pictures, then go eat somewhere else.
Pros
  • The view! From 650 feet up Dubai is a beautiful panorama.
Cons
  • The price. Some of the most expensive food in Dubai.
  • The food is often mediocre and Al Muntaha has been voted Dubai's worst restaurant in the past.
  • The decor looks like a Star Trek set him a 70's disco head on.

Description

  • A restaurant with a view. Al Muntaha sits on the 27th floor of the Burj Al Arab Hotel overlook Dubai and the Persian Gulf.
  • Mediterranean cuisine. A mix of European offerings.
  • "Smart Casual" attire.
  • Live music from 8pm to midnight six days a week.
  • Reservations are essential.
  • The restaurant is expensive; appetizers start at about $20US and Friday Brunch goes for around $55.

Guide Review - Al Muntaha Restaurant in the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai

Al Muntaha is not a great restaurant. The externals are all in place - friendly staff, good service, a unique atmosphere and decor that could provide the restaurant a signature character. And, of course, there's the view from the 27th floor of the Burj Al Arab Hotel on Dubai's Jumeirah Beach. But the restaurant has a reputation for bad food and it has been voted Dubai's worst restaurant at least twice.

The Friday Brunch at Al Muntaha is the restaurant's bright spot. The buffet is not as prefabricated as many in Dubai, with some food being cooked as ordered on the spot or carved at your table. The $55US price tag will get you a variety of choices for entrees, an assortment of caviars, excellent service, and access to the adjacent Skyview Bar. The brunch is on from 11:30am to 3:30pm on Fridays.
