The Beach: A lovely gold sand beach with lifeguard, watchtowers and first aid available. The staff has artificial respirators. There are rescue boats and even a helicopter pad at the beach.
Recreation Areas: The park has three play areas. The one is basically a playground - slides, a seesaw, a wooden tower. Another is more teen and young adult oriented and includes rope climbs. The third area is focused on simple relaxation -- seats and umbrellas, and an outdoor theater that sometimes gets used for concerts.
Central Area: In the center of the park is a landscaped area with flowerbeds. A set of stairs takes you up to a raised lawn with palm trees, roses, and some sheltered sitting areas.
Ladies' Day is Monday: It used to be Saturday, but it changed on June 1st. No males are allowed on the beach on Ladies' Day so that Muslim women can swim.
The Closest Beach to the City: Jumeirah Beach is the closest beach to Dubai and this 13 hectare park, opened in 1989, provides excellent access to the beach. You'll find all the facilities of a European or U.S. beach - showers, a barbecue area, picnic tables, etc.
Two piece bathing suits are quite acceptable.
